Probation Association

The Probation Association (PA) plays an important role as the employer's organisation for the 35 probation trusts in England and Wales - engaging in national collective bargaining with the trade unions who negotiate for the 22,000 probation service employees in the UK. The PA aim to raise the standard of probation across the country by publicising best practice.

Probation Association

A website with gravitas adapting to a changing environment

The website is powered by the Umbraco content management system, meaning that the Communication Manager at the PA can maintain an up-to-date web presence, and publish the large amount of academic material that the website contains.

A private forum enables managers within the probation service and the Probation Association to keep open a vital dialogue, and Ecru went through a careful selection process to help the PA decide which would be the best system, bearing in mind that the forum would need to coexist with a .NET Umbraco system.

Following our recent design refresh, the website now acknowledges the increasing importance of social media by including the latest tweets from the Probation Association's Twitter feed.

We are delighted with the site and, from the initial feedback received, so are our members. I have also spoken to some area communications managers today who have also been highly impressed.
